Oops! Creating Custom 404 Error Pages in cPanel

The default "404 Not Found" page is ugly and boring. When a user sees it, they leave. A Custom 404 Page can offer them a search bar, a discount code, or a link back home.

Editing the Pages

In cPanel, click Error Pages. You can edit the HTML for any error code:

  • 404 (Not Found): The most common error (broken links).
  • 500 (Internal Server Error): Script crashes.
  • 403 (Forbidden): Access denied areas.

Pro Tip: Keep it Simple

Don't load heavy scripts on your error page. Keep it lightweight—just your logo, a polite "We can't find that page," and a helpful button.
